Tales from Killgriffin and other stories By Tom Winters DCW member, Tom Winters, recently launched his anthology of short stories, Tales from Killgriffin and other stories.
A wonderfully atmospheric collection of stories and memoir, Tom's
book about the fictional town of Killgriffin and its colourful
inhabitants will delight all those who enjoy a good yarn. Many

DCW member, Roger
Hudson, recently saw the successful launch of his first
novel, Death
Comes by Amphora, at McHugh's pub in
Drogheda. A
society of conniving, corruption, intrigue and political skulduggery
is the way Roger sees ancient Athens in his historical mystery novel.
This fast-paced murder mystery plunges the reader into life in ancient
Athens, as the book's heroes, 18-year-old Lysanias and his elderly
slave Sindron, go about investigating the death of Lysanias' wealthy
uncle.
Mayor Anthony Donohoe opened the evening and DCW member, Mary Moore, introduced Roger, who read an excerpt from the book and answered questions from the audience. The well-attended event took on a party atmosphere after the reading, as everyone enjoyed the food provided by Martellos Greek Restaurant in Millmount and a glass or two of wine. Death Comes by Amphora is available in Drogheda from Easons in
